Laura is changing everyday and getting to be such a big girl (not really in size -- but that's to be expected considering the size of her parents :-p ) Although she'd really prefer to be sitting or standing (with mom and dad's help of course) she's starting to hold herself up really well when she's on her tummy ...

She even rolled over onto her back once ... though mom thinks that she kinda helped by putting her down lopsided, but it looks like rolling for real will be just around the corner.

It also seems like Laura is at the beginning stages of putting everything in her mouth. So far its mostly her hands and her shirts ...

Being 2 months old is hard work . . .

Monday, November 14, 2005

Laura is now 2 months old (as of yesterday)!

She is getting more and more interactive everyday. When I go to pick her up in the morning she smiles and smiles. Also, yesterday she was batting at the toys hanging above her play mat. The jury is still out on whether it was intentional, but the fact that she did it over and over and over seems to be evidence to the affirmative.

I should put up a 2 month picture ... so, watch here for some photos in the near future.

Today Laura is 8 weeks old! I was going to say she is 2 months old -- but really that is 5 days from now on the 13th.

We went to the doctor's yesterday. Yes, all of us -- even Jeff, who got up early on his day off to help out. Laura weighed in at 10 lbs. 4 ounces and 22.5 in long. She got 3 shots. What a trooper!

Tonight is Laura's first evening without mom or dad. We're going out to celebrate a friend's birthday and a co-worker and his family are going to watch Laura for those few hours. Laura has been less fussy these last few days, so I think she'll do just fine. Well, gotta go get everyone ready ...

Halloween Pictures
I'm starting the next post just to get things going, but this is really Wendy's project. The zoo here in SC did a Halloween thing that we went to with some friends from work. They have a 3-year-old that did his trick or treating there, and Laura just wore a costume and stared at the bright lights. Anyhow, very few people have been able to guess what her costume is. I don't want to say, but if you can't get it then either I didn't do a very good job on it or you just don't know me very well.

This is Laura being dwarfed by a giant pumpkin.

Summary continued ...

September 25th
Dad is good for silliness and Mom is good for cuddles.

October 5th
Today Laura had her first tub bath, after the rest of her cord fell off. She doesn't seem sure what to think of the whole experience.

October 22nd
Laura has been giving us some smiles. At this point every one is still a wonderful suprise. Here is a semi-smile caught on 'film' (I guess on computer chip?).

October 26th
We got Laura a little swing. Here she is enjoying it.

Next post ... Halloween!

Welcome to my web log or "blog". I'm finally taking some advice a friend gave me awhile back with inspiration from my sisters. This should be a quicker way to give small updates on Laura and the rest of the family -- from special events to mudane little things. It is my hope that this will be easier to update, so I will do it more often. You can come right here or follow a link I will be posting on the web page.

Where to start? Well Laura is a little over 6 weeks old, so that's six weeks of growing and pictures. Here is a little summary ...

September 19th
Took some pictures with Mom and Dad at 6 days old. Mom looks a little tired, huh?

September 20th
At 7 days old. Such a pretty sleeper.

September 24th
At 11 days old. Pretty when awake too!

More catch-up next time!
