Laura's Last Day of Kindergarten

Today is Laura's last day of kindergarten.

On her first full day of kindergarten, I was in the hospital with baby Sarah. But Grandma Stum took her to the bus stop and took some first day of school pictures.

After school, Laura came to visit her new sister

And now, about 9 and a half months later, it is the last day of kidergarten. What a difference 9 months makes!
Paul's Summer Haircut

So, I found this post that I started about a month ago. Let's just pretend that it's the middle of May...

One of the new challenges I'm learning to deal with is trying to cut my always on-the-go two year old's hair. Bring out a pair of scissors and he's ducking and weaving. So, I decided to go with the buzzers. Even though they are noisier, Paul seems to handle them a little better. And with a super short cut, maybe it will last all summer.

Before
I grabbed the longest comb (1") and went at it...

And after all the buzzing, I actually got him to sit still while I trimmed around his ears and the nape of his neck with some scissors.

Tada!

Paul and Sarah's nap times didn't coincide today. But Sarah and I had fun stretching out on the floor without worrying about being trampled by the boy. And I got some good pictures!

Over the Thanksgiving holiday we went up to Pennsylvania to spend some time with Jeff's side of the family. Paul had a good time banging on some real drums in their basement. The picture is a little dark but I think you can make it out. (Oh, and that is Jeff noodling on the guitar in the background)

Halloween

Laura aka Little Red Riding Hood

Paul aka Cowboy Paul

Sarah aka This Little Piggy

The group shot. You'll notice Paul was not to keen on dressing up. He didn't even want to stay dressed up long enough to go get candy from the neighbors. Maybe next year.

So I think you all really want to see some more pictures of Sarah...

Proud big sister Laura and 6 day old Sarah

Big sis (5 years) and little sis (12 days)

Sarah making a kissy face (TODAY -- 5 weeks old/ 1 month & 6 days)

Since Paul doesn't sit still for long, I don't have many pictures of Sarah and Paul, so here's a solo shot of Paul today...

There is a lot to catch up on. Let's start with Laura's birthday. Grandma Bonnie was down to visit, see the new baby and celebrate Laura's birthday with us on the actual day.

Saturday we celebrated Laura's 5th birthday. She doesn't really turn 5 until the middle of September, but with the new baby coming and school starting soon PLUS a request for a pool party, we thought celebrating a month early would work out best.

We were blessed to have no rain and use of the Maloy's pool and backyard. (Thanks Curt and Holly!) Pool time with friends, Chick-fil-a, cake, ice cream, and presents. What more could you ask for...

So now that it has been over a month since Paul's 1 year birthday, here are some pictures...
First, Jeff's parents came down to visit a week or so before Paul's birthday and just a little after Grandma Bonnie's birthday, so we took some time to celebrate.

On Paul's actual birthday we had dinner at Wendy's parents. I forgot to bring the camera but Aunt Christy had her's and took some great pictures.

Christmas 2009 - part I
Christmas eve we opened a few presents and then went to a service at our church (an early service so we could get plenty on sleep).

(great)grandpa Bill sent me this lovely picture of the kids with (great)grandma Anita. It must have been taken sometime this summer...

Next up, christmas pictures!

Yesterday it snowed and we got somewhere around 20 inches of fluffy stuff. Today it isn't snowing, so after Jeff spent three hours shoveling out ours and some neighbors cars (with our neighbor Bill's help), Laura and I went out for some fun.
